Linkinus: Most Advanced IRC Client Known to Mac!
Over the internet chatting with people is becoming more and more simple each day. A lot of people, I being one of them, like to have their own IRC chat rooms where various people can come and chat in a group. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. To be able to connect to those chatrooms you need to use programs called IRC clients or API’s. Today I bring you the best and most advanced IRC application known to Mac – Linkinus!
Linkinus 2.0 was just released and is a fantastic IRC client that offers ease to use as well as some awesome features built into the application itself. Some of those features include an ignore that person option, which will allow you to ignore all instant posts from a certain person who is getting on your nerves.
Now on more popular chatrooms there could be thousands of people chatting all at once and if you are trying to see what a specifc person is saying or wantto see when a certain word is mentioned, Linkinus has got just the tool for you! With a built in ‘highlight’ option, you can set a list of specific words and phrases so that when a person mentions one of your keywords, you are notified! Also with this feature, if you are trying to get a lot of work done, you can close the Linkinus client window and when someone is trying to get a hold of you, specifically Linkinus will notify you as well!
Another cool feature in Linkinus 2.0 is the chat log feature. If someone had spit you out an email yesterday and you forgot all about it, but needed that email today, you can check back into the chat logs within the program itself. With a quick search tool you will be able to find that email in no time!
So in all comparison, I used to use the IRC client Colloquy for Mac, but I would highly recommend anyone to switch over to Linkinus just to try it. It is a fantastic IRC client that allows you to balance multiple chatrooms, IRC networks, nicknames and all those neat features! To see a complete list of the features supported by Linkinus you can find them here. Linkinus is available for a 14 day trial download. It is available for $32.99 USD now in the store and discounts can be found for students, and previous owners of Linkinus 1.x at their website.
